Privacy Policy
1. Data collected
Basaltone collects the following data to provide the service:
- Email address and name (registration)
- Vocal frequency data (training sessions)
- Voice recordings (voice journal, only if the user creates them)
- Usage data (streaks, progress, achievements)
2. Audio processing
Vocal frequency analysis is performed entirely on your device. No audio stream is sent to our servers. Only numerical data (frequency in Hz) is stored.
Voice journal recordings are stored securely and are only accessible to the owning user.
3. Hosting and security
Data is hosted on Supabase (secure cloud infrastructure). Communications are encrypted via HTTPS. Data access is protected by Row Level Security (RLS).
4. AI Coaching
AI coaching uses your progress data (average frequencies, session durations, streaks) to generate personalized advice. No audio recordings are sent to the AI model.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
- Right of access: view all your data from the app
- Right of rectification: edit your profile in settings
- Right to erasure: delete your account and all your data
- Right to portability: export your data as CSV (Premium)

7. Your rights if you reside in California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information is collected and used
- Right to request deletion of your personal information
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information (Basaltone does not sell or share your data - “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

8. Your rights if you reside in Quebec (Law 25)
If you reside in Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25, modernized in 2023) grants you the following rights:
- Right of access to your personal information
- Right of rectification of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time
- Right to portability (receive your data in a structured technological format)
- Right to be informed in case of an automated decision concerning you
Our personal information protection officer can be reached at privacy@basaltone.app. In case of disagreement, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI).
9. Cookies and trackers
On the website and web app, Basaltone uses the following trackers:
- Essential cookies (Supabase): keep your login session active. Exempt from consent.
- Audience measurement (PostHog, hosted in the European Union): anonymous usage statistics to improve the app. Set only with your consent.
- Payment (Paddle): cookies strictly necessary for payment security, loaded only on the checkout page.
- Error monitoring (Sentry): technical error reports, without cookies or advertising identifiers, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service reliable.
You can give or withdraw your consent at any time from the app settings or via the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of the site. Your choice is kept for a maximum of 13 months, after which you are asked again.
